Update on Dad -2
Hi everyone! I apologize I haven’t updated sooner but in this case no news is definitely good news!
They began chemo treatments on Dad through his port that is directly connected to his veins that makes it easy for them to take blood out and out things back in without having to give dad an IV every time. So they started the chemo about a week and a half ago (sept 14) and dads doing as well as can be expected which we are so grateful for! Mom does such a good job keeping us all updated on what’s app and let’s us know any updates. She’s texted this the day of his first chemo treatment
“He is pretty exhausted after his first chemo treatment , a nurse sat beside him all the way through, he was not allowed to sleep cause they wouldn’t know if he passed out or is sleeping, he said he broke out in a sweat then he thought he was gonna pass out- this is when they lowered his blood sugar, then he got sleepy an really hungry, I had to drive home I figure he’ll rest pretty good today, he just had fish eggs an gluten free pancakes 🥰”
We’re so grateful for the clinic and their care for Dad, the knowledge and treatment plan they implement is so amazing!
The Dr said again a few weeks ago that Dads cancer numbers are low which is good! And apparently there are so many different types of chemo that they actually cloned his blood cells and tried different ones to see which his cancer responded to best. They are currently doing 2 treatments a week and the Dr said will know sometime within the next week or two how his tumor is responding to the treatment.
That’s about all the update we have for now! I’ll be sure to let you all know if there are any more updates within the next week or so!
Thank you all so much for your love and support for mom and dad we so greatly appreciate it!
