Spring/Summer Wardrobe Lookbook

If there was one thing I was glad I didn’t have to worry about this spring/summer, it was my wardrobe. Between summer activities, family get-togethers, canning, vacationing, and other festivities of summer, my wardrobe was the least of my stress.

There were countless times when I was running behind, trying to make food for a get together, hurrying to get Eric dressed and ready and I went to my closet to get dressed and only 1 or 2 options. It was a gift from God.

Some people might find this way of keeping a wardrobe restrictive or boring, there’s nothing wrong with not wanting a limited wardrobe, but i’ve found it extremely freeing and simplifying.

This year I combined my Spring and Summer wardrobe which is something that is not necessarily suggested ( although you can really customize the 10-item wardrobe however you like) so you can see I obviously have more than “10-items”. As you can tell there are a lot of (unintentional) pinks in my wardrobe this year. I’ve found dresses to be by far the easiest option for me, especially as a mom. There’s nothing like just throwing on one item and being done.

I had a few extras in my dresser, 2 t-shirts, tank-tops, pajamas, 2 sweaters, etc. But overall, the photos above are the true representation of my wardrobe the past two seasons. Next year i’m going to be more intentional about separating my items by season because by the end of July I was getting very bored with my clothes. The white dress, floral dress, and striped pink blouse will be spring items next year and perhaps a few other pieces as well.

As you can tell, I am no fashionista. I do what works for me and my lifestyle. I buy nearly all of my clothes consigned or thrifted. It’s what has worked for our life at the moment and i’m loving not being so attached to a piece of clothing because of the amount of money I paid for it.

I maid adjustments throughout the year, setting things aside that I no longer want-needed and making a list for a few item’s that i’d like to add next year. Among the things that I will be retiring this year are- the red floor length dress and the green peplum blouse. There may be more I weed out through the year, but that is all for now.

If you would never have paid a cent for and of your clothes, which would you immediately get rid of?
