Dads Surgery

Hi everyone! It’s been a little while since I have an update on Dad and figured it’d be a good time to post one!

Yesterday was a big day for him, he underwent surgery and had the mass/cancer removed. Everything went well and mom said as far as they know they were able to remove everything.

Over the past few months since his radiation/chemo he was having really good results and the tumor wasn’t growing which we were grateful for. His doctor really encouraged him to proceed with the surgery regardless since the tumor was lying dormant due to the treatment and would most likely behind to grow and cause issues again once the chemo/radiation are fully out of his system.

When I asked mom if dad wanted to say anything specific in the update she replied “ He says he’s glad he finally gave up an got it removed” ☺️ It was a big hurdle for him mentally and physically and we are so glad it’s behind him! He is recovering well and will be in the hospital for the next few days.

For someone who was fighting cancer you sure never could have guessed, we were at their place only last Saturday and he had the grill laden with chicken and made a big grilling of his famous chicken legs, he sure still has the touch. The chicken was absolutely scrumptious!
